Sacramento, CA--At the organization’s annual meeting this month, the 52 tribal member California Nations Indian Gaming Association (CNIGA) re-elected James Siva as chairman and Isaiah Vivanco as treasurer of the association’s executive committee.
Chairman Siva is also the vice-chairman for the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and Treasurer Vivanco serves as chairman of the Soboba Band of Luiseno Indians.

The executive committee holds, in addition to four officers, representatives from tribes in each of the four federal court districts in California. Joshua Muse, vice chairman of the Sycuan Band of Kumeyaay Indians was re-elected Southern District at-large representative and Redding Rancheria Chairman Jack Potter was re-elected to the Eastern District at-large representative position.

Additionally, Chris Creasey of Suffolk Construction was re- elected to the associate member representative position on the executive committee.

“It is incredibly humbling to be re-elected chairman of this great organization,” said Chairman Siva. “I look forward to continuing working for Indian Country, which includes the important and ever continual effort of protecting and securing tribal sovereignty.”

“I’m very honored to serve the next two years and be in a position to advocate for tribes on a variety of issues, including securing our sovereign rights to conduct gaming,” said Treasurer Vivanco.
