Join us for three information-packed days of seminars and a full Trade Show. We will be offering multiple educational tracks with a focus on tribal government, casino operations, and regulatory issues. CNIGA’s Western Indian Gaming Conference & Trade Show focuses on cutting-edge issues facing tribes and their gaming operations. We hand select all speakers to ensure our attendees experience informative and worthwhile seminars.

Request for Proposals

CNIGA carefully selects seminar topics to ensure that we are providing relevant and up to date information that provides value for our attendees. Topics focused on company specific products or services will not be considered or allowed. Seminars that have been featured at other conferences are discouraged. We encourage new, insightful topics that will interest a large audience. Selection of your topic does not guarantee you as a speaker.

Please note, that CNIGA is a non-profit and is not able to provide speaker fees or reimburse for travel expenses. All speakers will be given free registration to the conference, which includes entry to the Welcome Reception, Awards Luncheon, and Trade Show.

All submissions MUST be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on Monday, November 14th, 2022 in order to be considered for the WIGC 2023 Conference Program.

Following the deadline, a review team will select the proposals that contribute to an informative and comprehensive conference program. Proposals focused on company-specific products or services will not be considered.

Notifications regarding your proposal status will be sent by early December.

Session

100 character maximum no more than 10 words. Titles should briefly identify the content and audience and should be able to stand alone and give a clear idea of what will happen in the session.

Presenters

Each session may have a maximum of four presenters, including the session moderator. Please include biographical information, including evidence of topic expertise for each participant. Proposals with missing information will not be considered . Approval of your topic does not guarantee speaker participation.

Each presenter should be prepared to:

  • Confirm contact information
  • Write a short biography detailing their experience in the field
  • Explain their personal background as relevant to the topic of the proposal
  • List any recent relevant professional presentations

Session Description and Audience

Is the content of this proposal geared towards advanced level participants who have extensive knowledge of the topics, practices, resources, or publications covered?(Required)
Proposals will be reviewed equally regardless of your response to this question.
Descriptions should clearly and concisely identify what will be presented, who the audience should be, and the delivery format. Please write your abstract in the present tense.

Learning Objectives

If your proposal is accepted into the 2023 conference program, these learning objectives, along with your session title and description, will be published on the conference website and schedule.


What will attendees learn and be able to do as a result of your session?

Good learning objectives are short and action oriented. Please note: a 90 minute session should have no more than three learning objectives.

Additional Details and Logistics

Each session room will be set with:

  • A head table for presenters with microphones and table stands
  • A podium and microphone
  • An LCD projector with screen (presenters must provide their own laptops).

All provided presentations must be in PPT format and be in a "how to" or "problem/solution" style format. Any questions can be directed to ambar@cniga.com.

Non-Commercial Policy

CNIGA’s education programs at the WIGC are learning experiences and are noncommercial. Under no circumstances should a presentation be used for direct promotion of a speaker's product, service, or other self interest.(Required)

Before You Submit

  • Does the information listed in the presenter profile(s) support the proposal and demonstrate expertise in the topic?
  • Does the title clearly communicate what the session is about and who should attend?
  • Does the abstract support the outline proposed?
  • Is the timeline submitted realistic for a 90- minute session?
  • Do you have bios for all speakers?

Session proposals MUST be submitted by 11:59 p.m. PST on Monday, November 14th, 2022.

WIGC Information

The WIGC is produced by the California Nations Indian Gaming Association. WIGC will be held February 13-16, 2023. Seminars will be held on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday of that week. For additional information, please visit https://wigc.cniga.com.

CNIGA Mission Statement

The California Nations Indian Gaming Association (CNIGA), founded in 1988, is a non-profit organization comprised of federally-recognized tribal governments. CNIGA is dedicated to the purpose of protecting the sovereign right of Indian tribes to have gaming on federally-recognized Indian lands. It acts as a planning and coordinating agency for legislative, policy, legal and communications efforts on behalf of its members and serves as an industry forum for information and resources.
